National Coach of the German Karate Association for Kata A-, B- und C-Squad
Efthimios Karamitsos, born 1956 in Greece, acting National Coach of the German Karate Association is one of the most successful Kata specialists worldwide.
Encouraged by his brother, Efthimios started with Karate in 1974. As a sportive activity beside his medical studies in Italy he was trained by Sensei Hiroshi Shirai. In 1977 he came to Germany and he started to train by Sensei Murai and Sensei Ochi and since then he started collecting title after title. Amongst others he finished two times as 3rd place at World Cup competitions, six times as European Champion and he was the continuous German Master from 1978 to 1985.
Efthimios Karamitsos is leading the Budocentre SC Judokan Frankfurt which is the sole "Bundesstützpunkt" (sole branch of the German Karate Association) in Germany.
In 1992 he became the national coach of the German Karate Association and since then he has educated and guided many Athletes to success. The seminars given by the graduated master of sports sciences are very popular amongst the entire Karate community in Germany.
Efthimios Karamitsos is author of several books and other media.
In 1988 he was awarded with the Silbernes Lorbeerblatt
